She focuses on placing partners, partner groups, and other highly experienced attorneys into leading international law firms and high-growth boutiques in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she is based, as well as other key U.S. markets. Julieta also works closely with law firm leaders to see their strategic hiring and geographic expansion goals to fruition. She has played a key role in building practice groups and launching new offices for firms. Her clients benefit from a rare perspective and skill set shaped by her years leading the recruiting function at an Am Law 100 firm and by her subsequent experience on the search firm side. She deftly navigates the challenges that can arise in high-level searches, helping firms address reputational and other concerns and engage the market with credibility.
Before founding Stubrin & Associates, LLC, Julieta held senior roles at elite legal recruiting boutiques, where she was instrumental in placing partners and groups into top firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York. Prior to that she served as Director of Attorney Recruiting and Diversity at Fenwick. Over her 15-year tenure there, she collaborated closely with the Executive Committee and practice group leadership, gaining firsthand insight into the operational intricacies and strategic drivers of successful lateral hiring and integration.
Julieta has been active in the legal recruitment community for many years, including as President of the Bay Area Legal Recruitment Association and in various leadership roles in the National Association for Law Placement.
Her thought leadership extends to speaking at conferences and appearing in the legal media. She has published articles and been quoted on diverse topics in various media outlets including Law360, American Lawyer, and Chambers. She holds an M.A. in Human Resources and Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco and a B.A. in communications and Spanish from Santa Clara University. Julieta lives in San Francisco with her husband and children, where she enjoys taking full advantage of the city’s culinary scene, waterfront, and cultural life.
